“As development intern at EqualityMaine, Lex planned and executed EQME’s first Dine OUT for Equality event last summer,” EqualityMaine printed on the gala’s program. “Under Lex’s leadership, Dine OUT was a resounding success with 44 participating restaurants in 17 towns and cities across the state. This one-day event raised $15,000! Lex managed all of the logistics of the event including outreach, sign-ups, day-of coordination and marketing.”

Horwitz, who is majoring in psychology and gender, sexuality, and women’s studies, and minoring in anthropology, was also credited with helping EqualityMaine’s work to end conversion therapy.
