A recent Bowdoin graduate is “helping to shape the future of contemporary art,” according to Art New England. Isaac Jaegerman ’16 is listed by the publication as one of the ten “most exciting emerging artists from New England who are determinedly forging their own way.”

Jaegerman, who is currently working as a technician in Bowdoin’s Visual Arts department, earns special praise for his cut-paper work, which Art New England says “explores the physical, theoretical and philosophical abstractions present in nature.”
Jaegerman was nominated as an emerging artist by Suzette McAvoy, executive director/chief curator, at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockland, who noted the “enormous refinement and honing of his ideas in the work of the past two years.”
