Alumni Attend Bowdoin Invitational Golf Tournament to Support Student Internship Funds

On September 12, over 100 golfers enjoyed a gorgeous day at scenic Essex County Club in Manchester, Massachusetts, for the Bowdoin Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament fosters connections among Polar Bears from across the generations while raising funds to support the College’s most pressing needs. Proceeds benefited Student Internship Funds.

The day of golf concluded with a reception where players enjoyed a plethora of heavy hors d’oeuvres and purchased raffle tickets. Raffle items, which were donated by alumni, included Red Sox and New York Rangers tickets, a Cheeky Fly Fishing Reel, golf at Essex County Club and Brae Burn Country Club, overnight stays at the Brunswick Hotel & Tavern, several bottles of specialty liquor, and a selection of fine wines. A silent auction was held for a rare Rolex watch, once owned by Fred Thorne ’57, H’07 and donated by Sue Thorne. To see a list of tournament winners, visit the Bowdoin Invitational page.

A good time was had by all! We are very thankful to everyone who sponsored, donated, and helped along the way. Special thanks to the host committee: Mike Buckley Jr. ’07, Dewey Crowley ’09, Sue Pardus ’86, Ali George Rundlett ’03, Ashley Conti Smith ’07,  and Brian Sung ’95.
