Diwali: Students Celebrate the Festival of Lights and Triumph of Good

Students in the South Asian Student Association threw a party in Daggett Lounge to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Students offered up plenty of food and even more lights and candles. Anokha, Bowdoin’s Indian-fusion dance group, also performed.
Dhivya Singaram ’17, the event organizer, explained that the festival is a “celebration of good triumphing over evil.” More than 80 staff, students, and faculty participated in the event.
