Todd Forsgren ’03, the son of birders, grew up looking at the works of John James Audubon and Roger Tory Peterson. At Bowdoin, he majored in biology and visual art.
Between 2006 and 2014, he traveled across the United States and in Central and South America, photographing birds caught temporarily in the nets of researchers. He said his project is meant both to highlight ornithological research and conservation, and to evoke empathy in viewers. See his photos at National Geographic.
