New York City Polar Bears Welcome the Class of 2020 in Central Park on August 6

It was a hot Saturday afternoon on the Great Hill in Central Park for the annual Bowdoin Club of New York Lobster Picnic, but the weather didn’t stop more than 150 polar bears from coming out to relax, catch up, and give a warm welcome to 23 members of the Class of 2020 and their families. Polar bears of all generations swapped stories from their days on campus while enjoying a picnic-style lunch consisting of Luke’s Lobster rolls (co-founded by Bowdoin’s Bryan Holden ’09), Maine blueberry bars and other goodies. Limited edition Bowdoin Club of New York souvenir cups were given out to everyone, which came in handy for water refills throughout the afternoon. Bowdoin Alumni Relations along with Bowdoin volunteers Emily Simonton ’15, Emma Pyle ’12, and Katie-May Gordon ’12, welcomed everyone and gathered the crowd for a group photo.
