On April 25th a group of Richmond, VA Polar Bears gathered for cocktails and catch-up. The event took place at the recently opened Quirk Hotel. Gracing the lobby with their genuine Bowdoin hellos and warmth were alumni and parents from the 60’s through the ‘00’s (and possibly 2030.) Sharing stories from early days on campus, to recent graduate school transitions in Virginia, to an in-the-moment decision a son had to make about acceptance of an admission to Bowdoin – all were reflective of their own Bowdoin experiences in the context of an ever-changing campus. At the end of the night the group left with a commitment to getting together again soon and a sense of strong community with ties to a small college in Maine.
