Center for Multicultural Life

 We bring together people of varying experiences and perspectives to learn and grow by: 

• Creating a welcoming space for students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented at Bowdoin (specifically first-generation students, students of racial and ethnic minorities, and low-income students). 
• Engaging students of all backgrounds by preparing them to contribute to a world in flux as culturally competent leaders and community members. 

 

Some of our past and ongoing events include: Latin Heritage Month, Black History Month, POC Mountain Takeover, AAPI Heritage Month, and more.

  Third Powwow at Bowdoin Celebrates Native Joy

  On Saturday, May 2, the Quad filled with music, dance, and laughter for the powwow—and neither wind nor rain could dampen it.

  Adoptee Alliance Builds Community Around a Shared but Often Unspoken Identity

  Chartered as a new student group by Lia Scharnau ’26 last fall, the Adoptee Alliance offers a community for students whose families don't fit the traditional mold.

  Student Groups Honor the Richness and Diversity of Asian Cultures

  This month, the Asian Students Alliance and many other affinity groups organized a full calendar of events to celebrate the nations and cultures represented in the Bowdoin student body.
