Celebrating Independence! Fifty Years of Spindleworks, 1976–2026

Section 5: Home, Community, and Self

By drawing inspiration from the everyday world around us, the artists represented in this section find in household objects, holiday celebrations, and the heroic actions of those who serve to protect others the substance of the activities and rituals that unite us as a community and define us as individuals. With transformative humor and empathy, these works demonstrate how art becomes a shared language that reveals new insights, fosters connections, and highlights the power of collaboration, including that between audience and maker.
