7:00-10:00 p.m. | Bowdoin Animation Society Screening | Beam Classroom, Visual Arts Center (VAC) | Every Friday, the Bowdoin Animation Society meets to watch animated shows or, occasionally, movies. Each week has a theme--e.g. fantasy, comedy, sports--and attendees can come with their recommendations that we then vote on to decide which show we watch that night. Show up when you can and stay for as long as you like |
7:00-8:30 p.m. | "The Woman" Theater Performance | Wish Theater, Memorial Hall | Enjoy a play written and directed by Bowdoin senior Oceana Hangret as part of her Honors Thesis. The story is loosely based on a superstition told by her Vietnamese mother about a woman who steals children that eat in the dark. The play explores themes of grief and solitude through different periods of time. Her primary goal is to deviate from the narrative of Vietnam only being associated with the war and to bring a fresh story to Bowdoin that incorporates culture on the stage. |
7:30-9:00 p.m. | Rasa String Quartet Performance | Studzinski Recital Hall | Multidisciplinary percussionist Brian Shankar Adler and the Rasa String Quartet present: Redefining Home, a concert that celebrates each artists' musical roots. Spanning from evocative Indian ragas and mysterious Argentine tangos, to spirited Celtic fiddle tunes, this collaboration evokes the feelings of home and comfort inherent in our earliest musical memories |
8:00-9:00 p.m. | A Capella Concert with Bowdoin, Bates, and Colby | The Chapel | Join Bowdoin’s own a capella group BOKA for an invitational concert with Bates College’s Deansmen & Crosstones and Colby College’s Mayflower Chill.
