Indian Pond

A classic Bowdoin Orientation Trip, Indian Pond trips offer a fun-filled time whitewater rafting, stand up paddleboarding, canoeing, and day hiking!

Indian Pond offers a mix of whitewater thrills and peaceful mountain moments. Camped along the scenic shores of Indian Pond near The Forks, ME, you’ll spend each day rotating through outdoor adventures: rafting the Kennebec River, paddling canoes and stand up paddle boards (SUPs), and hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail. There will be a comfortable base camp where you will sleep in tents and have outhouses and water pumps. This trip is perfect for those who want to try a bit of everything!

There is no previous experience necessary but participants should be comfortable swimming in moving water given some of the different activities on the itinerary.
