Information on transportation options for students traveling alone and for students traveling with family and guests can be found below. The closest airport to Bowdoin is the Portland International Jetport (PWM), which is about 30 miles south of campus. Concord Trailways, a New England bus company, runs a bus from Portland to the campus daily. Additonally, Amtrak's Downeaster Train now connects Brunswick to Boston's North Station with daily train service!

Public and private transportation is available from Portland, Maine to Bowdoin College for students traveling alone on either arrival day. If requested, Bowdoin vans will collect students on Tuesday, August 27 for Orientation trips. Via email and the Class of 2017 Facebook page, our office will attempt to connect students with similar schedules in an effort to offer cost sharing opportunities.
If you need transportation from Portland to Bowdoin, please contact a student coordinator listed below as soon as possible with your travel plans. Be sure to include your name, the origin of your trip, airline name and flight number, or bus company, and arrival time in any correspondence about travel. Please plan to arrive on campus between 9:00-4:00 on Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
