The College and the larger community are embarking on the Brunswick-Bowdoin Community Read, an opportunity to open a discussion about class and economic differences.
The project begins with the reading of Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, by Barbara Ehrenreich.
Community members are invited to attend a presentation by the author January 27 and are encouraged to participate in various upcoming moderated discussion groups.
Copies of Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America are available for member borrowing at the Curtis Memorial and Bowdoin College libraries. Paperback copies of the book may be purchased at the College Store at Brunswick Station, the Bowdoin Bookstore in Smith Union, through The Bowdoin Store website and at Gulf of Maine Books on Maine Street.
Visit the Brunswick-Bowdoin Community Read website for updates and a schedule of events.
