Renowned Recitalist Christopher O'Riley Master Class Includes Pianist Allen Wong Yu '14

Pianist Allen Wong Yu '14 was invited to participate in a Portland Ovations master class with renowned pianist Christopher O'Riley Nov. 18 in Portland's Merrill Auditorium.

O'Riley is the host of the National Public Radio program From the Top, which is to record a program in Kanbar Auditorium, Studzinski Recital Hall February 29, 2012, for broadcast at a later date.

"Chris is an incredible musician," said Allen before the master class. "I am really looking forward to the master class where I'm sure I will learn a lot from him."

Allen worked with O'Riley once before when he performed on From the Top back in 2008, and he's to be interviewed when the show comes to Bowdoin this winter.

Allen, a sophomore this year, will be performing in the master class with two graduate students, Derek Herzer and Eric Peppe, who are both studying at the University of Southern Maine School of Music.
