Hopper Exhibition is Headline News in Japan
Story posted September 03, 2011
The spotlight continues to shine on the Bowdoin College Museum of Art exhibition Edward Hopper's Maine — including in the land of the rising sun.
The Japanese daily newspaper The Mainichi Shimbun, or Mainichi Daily News, which has a morning and evening edition combined circulation of more than 5.5 million, carried the Associated Press item that circulated from coast to coast in this country in The Washington Post, Houston Chronicle and MSNBC, among others.
The article touts not only the record-breaking exhibition, but the Museum itself ("an 1894 architectural treasure") and the Joshua Chamberlain statue.
