Over winter break, Thomson is immersing herself in just such an endeavor — in Ghana.

Thomson was accepted as a winter fellow by Community Water Solutions, a non-profit organization that works to establish sustainable, community-run water businesses in Ghana.

“I will be working in a team with three other fellows to set up a new water business in a rural village in northern Ghana, which will provide clean drinking water to 700 to 1,000 people,” said Thomson before her departure.
