As a McKeen Fellow, Elsie Thomson 11 has helped coordinate weekend service trips for students looking to help in the community.
Over winter break, Thomson is immersing herself in just such an endeavor in Ghana.
Thomson was accepted as a winter fellow by Community Water Solutions, a non-profit organization that works to establish sustainable, community-run water businesses in Ghana.
I will be working in a team with three other fellows to set up a new water business in a rural village in northern Ghana, which will provide clean drinking water to 700 to 1,000 people, said Thomson before her departure.
