Video: Bowdoin Has Role in Lifetime Holiday Movie
Story posted December 03, 2010
A Hollywood power couple with ties to the College has woven Bowdoin into their latest project. First-year Simon Brooks' parents — Tanya Lopez-Brooks, head of the Lifetime Movie Network (LMN), and executive producer Stan Brooks — are behind the LMN movie On Strike for Christmas, in which Bowdoin is mentioned several times.
The plot involves a mother (played by Daphne Zuniga) who goes on strike when her family won't help with all the planning and extra work around the house during the holidays. She has college-bound twins, one of whom is waiting to hear from the basketball coach at Bowdoin, mentioned at least three times in the film. On Strike for Christmas premiered December 5, and will repeat multiple times.
