'Bowdoin Bound' Brings Baltimore Kids to Brunswick for 'Life Changing Experience'
Story posted July 16, 2010
For the eighth summer in a row, Bowdoin Bound will bring more than 30 academically talented students from inner-city Baltimore to Brunswick for a first-hand look at educational opportunities many have never imagined.
An excerpt from news radio station WBAL's coverage of Bowdoin Bound:
"Once I was enrolled in the program I started to learn that there is a lot more to life than just being cool and trying to impress your friends. I learned that there is actually a life beyond Baltimore and you can actually make it somewhere in life in college and instead of settling for less why not shoot for more no matter what your circumstances are."
He says Bowdoin Bound has changed his life.
"It's trying to get us into the mind set of wanting to apply to college and do better and give back to the common good," says Tyrelle as he gets ready to head back to the little college town of Brunswick, Maine. "It's a really good program."
