The Daily Beast Savors Bowdoin Dining

Dining Service's local food, sustainable practices — and lobster — have tempted the taste buds of The Daily Beast.

The popular news Web site includes Bowdoin in its feature, "The Best College Food."

Education contributor Kathleen Kingbury's article highlighting excellence in collegiate cuisine notes Dining Service's local sourcing and points out that it pulled off a 100 percent compostable lobster bake at the outset of the academic year.

The Daily Beast's October 6, 2009, article includes this photo, noting that 1,256 lobsters were served at the College's 100 percent compostable lobster bake in September.
