Dining Service's local food, sustainable practices — and lobster — have tempted the taste buds of The Daily Beast.
The popular news Web site includes Bowdoin in its feature, "The Best College Food."
Education contributor Kathleen Kingbury's article highlighting excellence in collegiate cuisine notes Dining Service's local sourcing and points out that it pulled off a 100 percent compostable lobster bake at the outset of the academic year.

The Daily Beast is a news reporting and opinion Web site published by Tina Brown, former editor of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.

Bowdoin was last mentioned in The Daily Beast in the spring, when it ran a review of Bad Girls Go Everywhere: The Life of Helen Gurley Brown, Gender and Women's Studies Professor Jennifer Scanlon's biography of the longtime Cosmopolitan editor.
