2009 Alumni Council Awards Announced

The Bowdoin Alumni Council has announced the recipients of two awards honoring outstanding service.

The Alumni Service Award and Distinguished Educator Award recognize alumni for their exemplary achievement and dedication.

Alumni Service Award Mark Bayer '79 has a tremendous record of service to Bowdoin. For his many efforts, he was named the recipient of the 2009 Alumni Service Award, presented annually in recognition of an individual's record of volunteer service to the College.

Distinguished Educator Award For his decades of dedication to the field of education, Robert "Sandy" Ervin '69 has been chosen to receive the 2009 Distinguished Educator Award, presented biennially in recognition of outstanding achievement.

The awards will be presented Saturday, May 30, 2009, during Reunion Convocation.
