Two recent College renovation projects earned awards from the New England chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA New England) and are featured in the October 2008 issue of Maine Home+Design magazine.
The Bowdoin College Museum of Art was given AIA New England's Honor Award, as were Studzinski Recital Hall and Kanbar Auditorium.
AIA New England's 2008 Design Awards and Conference were held October 3-5, at the Portland Regency Hotel in Portland, Maine.
The magazine's article, "The Inspiration of Place," includes photo spreads of the two buildings and details the projects with quotes from musuem architect Jorge Silvetti, of Boston's Machado and Silvetti Associates, and architect Clifford Gayley, of William Rawn Associates, the Boston firm that transformed the Curtis Pool into a state-of-the-art recital hall.
