Bowdoin baseball player Tim Welch '12, of Portsmouth, N.H., is featured in the September 15, 2008, edition of Sports Illustrated.

Welch is profiled as part of the magazine's weekly "Faces in the Crowd" segment.
Welch, a left-handed pitcher, did not allow a run in 52 innings for Portsmouth High School, leading the Clippers to a 23-0 record and the Class I New Hampshire state title.
He was 9-0 with 84 strikeouts and just 16 hits allowed.
Welch is expected to play some outfield in addition to pitching for Mike Connolly's Bowdoin squad next spring.
