Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Receives 2008 Abraxas Award

Bowdoin College has given the 2008 Abraxas Award to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Va.
The Abraxas Award is presented annually to the secondary school sending two or more graduates to Bowdoin, whose representatives maintain the highest standing during their first year at the College.
Two students from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in the Class of 2011, Eileen Palmer and Sharon Ulery, earned a combined GPA of 3.9 during the 2007-2008 academic year.
The Abraxas Award was established in 1915 by the Abraxas Society, a former Bowdoin junior class scholarly society that was active from 1893 to about 1924.
