Museum of Art Featured in Architectural Record
Story posted February 01, 2008
The newly renovated Bowdoin College Museum of Art, which reopened in October 2007 to rave reviews, is the subject of a six-page spread in the February 2008 issue of Architectural Record.
The article examines the challenges met by architectural firm Machado and Silvetti Associates as it undertook renovations and additions while maintaining the integrity of the historic McKim, Mead and White building.
Among the spread's photographs and floor plans is a quote from Maine Historic Preservation Commission Director Earle Shettleworth, observing that "this is Maine's finest example of Renaissance Revival architecture, hands down."
