Runner's World Features Joan Benoit Samuelson '79

Story posted December 14, 2007

Joan Benoit Samuelson '79, winner of the 1984 inaugural Olympic women's marathon and two-time winner of the Boston Marathon, is the subject of a lengthy feature in the January 2008 issue of Runner's World magazine.

The article notes that having turned 50 earlier this year, Samuelson is setting her sights on the Olympic women's marathon trials in Boston, set for April 2008. It will be her fourth women's trials. While she holds no hope of winning one of the three spots for this summer's Beijing Olympics, she wants "to break 2:50 at 50."
