Story posted June 13, 2007
Bowdoin College men's lacrosse player Kevin Mullins has been named an Academic All-American by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. A Sarah and James Bowdoin scholar as well as an Academic All-NESCAC honoree, Mullins graduated in May with a double-major in physics and economics.
Mullins enjoyed a stellar senior lacrosse season, picking up well-deserved recognition following a solid all-around campaign. Playing in all 15 games this season, the midfielder was second on the team in scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists. In addition, he stood second on the team with 36 groundballs for the year. He earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors following a four-goal, two-assist performance in a key NESCAC victory over Trinity College on April 7.
Mullins was just one of 42 student-athletes from across all three Divisions of NCAA play to earn Academic All-American recognition. He was also named as a First-Team All-NESCAC selection in 2007.
