Story posted January 31, 2006
Dean of Student Affairs Craig Bradley sent the following message to the Bowdoin community Tuesday, January 31, 2006.
Dear members of the Bowdoin community,
I write to follow up on last week's message from President Mills about the tragic death of Taryn King of the Class of 2007. Taryn was studying away in Galway, Ireland, where she died of a sudden illness last Thursday.
Visiting hours for Taryn will be held this Friday, February 3, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 276 Pawtucket Street, in Lowell, Mass. Directions: http://www.odonnellfuneralhome.com/directions.htm (tel. 978-458-8768 or 866-458-8768).
A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, February 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 145 East Merrimack Street, Lowell.
The College has arranged for bus transportation to the funeral for Bowdoin community members. Persons interested should e-mail Debbie Miller in the Athletic Department by the end of the day tomorrow (Wednesday) to reserve a seat; her e-mail address is email@example.com.
A memorial service will be held on campus at a future date that will be arranged with the King family. Details about that service will be circulated once the arrangements have been made.
This is a terribly sad time for the King family and for the Bowdoin community. Thank you for continuing to support one another and for holding the King family in your thoughts and prayers.
Craig W. Bradley
