Christopher Hill '74 Discusses North Korea Talks on NewsHour with Jim Lehrer

Assistant U.S. Secretary of State Christopher R. Hill, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 1974, was interviewed on PBS's "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" Tuesday, August 9.
Hill, who has been leading the American delegation in the latest round of six-nation negotiations dealing with North Korea's nuclear program, discussed the progress of the talks.

Christopher Hill is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior to being named Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Hill served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and, earlier, as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Poland. He previously served as a Senior Director for Southeastern Europe at the National Security Council. Earlier in his career, Hill served as the U.S. Ambassador to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Special Envoy for Kosovo. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Ambassador Hill served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon. An economics major at Bowdoin, Ambassador Hill earned his master's degree from the Naval War College.
