Bowdoin Student First Responder at Martha’s Vineyard Plane Crash
Story posted June 28, 2005
When a small single engine airplane with three deaf people aboard crashed last week on approach to Katama Airfield in Edgartown, Mass., the first person to respond was Bowdoin College junior Nic Turner.
Turner helped reassure the pilot and passengers that help was on its way and quickly worked with others to prevent the crash from becoming an even greater disaster. A story about the experience appeared in the June 28 edition of the Vineyard Gazette and online here.
