Student and community singers of all voice parts are needed for the Bowdoin Chorus’s May 2 performance of Mozart's Requiem in Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus.
Rehearsals for all singers are Sundays from 7-9:30 p.m.; and Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. for sopranos and altos, and 8-9 p.m. for tenors and basses. All Chorus rehearsals are held in the Tillotson Room (101), Gibson Hall, on campus.
The rehearsal on Superbowl Sunday (February 1) will be at 4 p.m. to accommodate football fans.
Sight reading ability is helpful but not required.
To schedule a private, singer-friendly audition, call Chorus Director Tony Antolini at 725-3347 or email aantolin@bowdoin.edu.
Singers may also audition with other singers in a relaxed, group atmosphere at 7 p.m., Thursday, January 29, in Gibson Hall.
The four solo parts will first be offered to members of the Bowdoin Chorus. If a blending ensemble of soloists within the group is not found, auditions for other singers will be held at a later date.
The orchestra will rehearse for approximately four weeks in April prior to the May 2 performance. Student musicians and community players are encouraged to contact Professor Antolini to schedule an audition. The May 2 concert will open with Mozart's "Linz" Symphony, conducted by Bowdoin string coach, Roland Vasquez.
For more information, call Professor Antolini at 725-3347.
