Sunsplash December 12

Story posted December 01, 2003

The eighth annual Sunsplash will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, December 12, in Morrell Lounge, David Saul Smith Union.

Sunsplash - the College's big holiday craft fair and sale - will feature over 40 vendors and artisans showing their wares: everything from wall hangings, quilts, artwork and toys to pottery, knitted items, and jewelry.

The downtown candy shop will be present to help you find just the right kind of candy for your sweet tooth. Clay Play will also be on hand to assist you in making a gift for someone special (or a special gift for yourself).

Santa and Frosty will be in Lamarche Lounge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Photos with Santa and Frosty will be taken for a nominal fee.

Other highlights:

Bookstore sale: Save 20% on all holiday books, greeting cards, and ornaments. Save 25% on all 2004 calendars. Plus other in-store specials.

Door prizes: Enter to win a $50 gift certificate or a holiday gift basket. Enter at any Smith Union location (cafe, grill, info desk, bookstore). You don't need to be present to win.

Dining specials: Order gift bags at the Cafe, and enjoy free hot chocolate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunsplash is a day of fun for the whole campus and Brunswick community. Held on the last day of classes each year, it is both a nice reward to the students for all their hard work during the fall semester, and a thank you to faculty, staff and the community for all they do to make Bowdoin a special place to learn, work and play.
