Here's your chance to put the finishing touches on your triple-axel-triple-toe loop combination before the next Winter Olympics.
This season's first session of "Skate With Us" at the Bowdoin College Skating School will be held Saturday, October 4. Registration for skaters of all ages and skills is now open.
Classes are held Thursdays and Saturdays for nine weeks at Dayton Arena on the Bowdoin College campus. A second session of lessons, also lasting nine weeks, begins Thursday, January 8.
Fees range from $60 to $150 per session.
The "Skate With Us" program is designed by the U.S. Figure Skating Association and includes sessions for preschool children, preschoolers and parents, home schoolers, children ages 6 to 18, and adults.
The program offers classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, in basic figure skating skills, advanced basic skills, fundamentals of hockey skating, and a new program on learning to compete.
To register or for more information, call Susan Dye in Bowdoin's Events and Summer Programs Office at (207) 725-3433.
