Community Resource Guide Wins First Place
Story posted January 08, 2003
Bowdoin College's new "Community Resource Guide" has been awarded first-place for brochures in The Maine Public Relations Council's annual Golden Arrow Awards program. The program recognizes excellence in the field of public relations in Maine.
While the College has received several "Merit Awards" from the MPRC in the past for its publications and programs, this is Bowdoin's first "1st-Place" award from the statewide organization, and the only MPRC award this year to a college or university.
Sponsored in part by The Association of Bowdoin Friends, the Community Resource Guide underscores Bowdoin's long-standing commitment to this area and to Maine. The 27-page brochure provides information about the College's many contributions to the community; its facilities and resources; and details about how members of the community can participate in college life.
The Community Resource Guide project came about through the efforts of coordinator Peggy Schick Luke; researcher and writer Yana Domuschieva '04; Andrea Richards and Lucie Teegarden in Publications; and designer Bill Fall.
Community Resource Guides are available from the Office of Communications and Public Affairs.
