Honors Day: Join the Bowdoin Community in Honoring Its Students and Faculty May 9

Bowdoin College will honor students and faculty who have distinguished themselves both in and out of the classroom at its annual Honors Day ceremony at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, at Pickard Theater. Everyone from the Bowdoin community is invited to attend and join in honoring our students, friends and colleagues.
The Bowdoin Chamber Choir and World Music Ensemble will provide processional and recessional music to include Dagbamba drumming pieces “Damba” and “Damba Sochandi,” and Luis Martinez’s “Alto Songo.” The Indecisions (formerly called B.O.C.A.) will perform a vocal interlude and lead the singing of the alma mater.
Enrique Yepes, assistant professor of romance languages, will deliver the Honors Day address, entitled “With a Little Help from My Friends.”
Awards will be presented by President Robert Edwards; Dean for Academic Affairs Craig McEwen; Dean of Student Affairs Craig Bradley; Chairs of Academic Departments; Burgwell J. Howard, director of student activities and the Smith Union; and Michael Woodruff, director of the Outing Club.
