Travel to Sunny Sicily This May-June

Join the Association of Bowdoin Friends this spring in sunny Sicily!
ABF will sponsor a 13-day trip to the island of Sicily May 21 through June 3. The trip is open to the general public. Reservations are due by January 31. For more information call 798-7016.
"Sicily, Crossroads of the Ancient Mediterranean: A Guided Study Tour" will by led by Bowdoin College Classics Professor Barbara Weiden Boyd. Boyd, who has worked and traveled extensively in Italy, will lecture throughout trip on a variety of topics, including the interaction of ancient cultures in Sicily, the development of Greek Doric architecture, Sicily in classical literature and myth, and the “discovery” of Sicily by 18th- and 19th-century European and American travelers. She will also introduce all the sites on the itinerary.
Travel arrangements, by Hewins Carlson Wagonlit, include round-trip air travel, Boston-Palermo, on Alitalia; local escorts; 12 nights accommodations in first-class to deluxe hotels; all travel (via motorcoach) in Sicily; 12 breakfasts, seven dinners, four lunches; all admissions to museums and sites; and porterage (one piece of luggage per person).
