Students Spend Day Learning About Bowdoin

May 13, 1998 Brunswick, Maine--More than 50 middle and high school students from around Maine participated in Bowdoin College Day on Friday, May 1.
The students spent the day learning about programs and organizations for minority Bowdoin students. A panel discussion by student leaders of various student groups, a campus tour, and a panel discussion by Bowdoin administrators and faculty highlighted the day.Older students were invited to spend the night and participate in social events at Druckenmiller Hall and Russwurm House.
The students are part of H.Y.P.E. (Hardworking Youth Pursuing Excellence), a community-based program focusing on the educational, social and career needs of African-American, biracial or Puerto Rican students in Maine.
