Author to Lecture on Greek Civilization

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Mary Lefkowitz, author of "Not Out of Africa," will lecture on the origins of Greek civilization on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium, Visual Arts Center.
Lefkowitz, who also co-edited Black Athena Revisted, is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities and chair of the Greek and Latin Departments at Wellesley Coilege. Her articles and reviews have appeared in The New York Times Book Review, The New Republic, and the New York Review of Books.
Recently, she has shifted her concentration, producing Not Out of Africa and other works on revisionist ancient history. Generating considerable discussion and review, Lefkowitz has appeared on national radio talk shows and on CBS TV's "60 Minutes."
