Roundtable Discussion of the Animated Disney Film "Frozen"
- 12/1/2014 |
6:00 PM – 8:45 PM
Location: Sills Hall, Smith Auditorium
Event Type: Discussion
The popular animated film "Frozen" (2013) has earned the undying allegiance of most of its young viewers and over a billion dollars worldwide for Walt Disney Pictures. One factor behind the movie's commercial and critical success is the broad appeal of its protagonist, whose transformation from a misunderstood loner into a glamorous queen has been read as both a coming of age tale and a coming out story. Please join Bowdoin faculty members Jen Scanlon, William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of the Humanities in Gender and Women's Studies; Sarah Braunstein, Visiting Assistant Professor of English; and Allison Cooper, Assistant Professor of Romance Languages and Cinema Studies for a round table discussion of the film at 7:45 pm in Smith Auditorium, immediately following its screening at 6 pm on Monday, December 1st.
