Hugh Raffles is professor of anthropology at the New School for Social Research.
His current work uses a cultural and historical anthropology of "nature" to explore the relationships between humans and other animals, specifically how we identify and make sense of the complex connections among people, other beings, and "inanimate" phenomena.
Raffles is the author of Insectopedia.
