Thirty-seven graduate and undergraduate students participated, representing six Maine institutions and Boston College.
Stratton’s poster, “Investigating the Relationship between Phytoplankton Fluorescence and Bloom Composition in Harpswell Sound,” depicts her research, which could provide the basis for early detection of potentially toxic phytoplankton blooms forming in Harpswell Sound, a sentinel site for coastal bloom.
Associate Professor of Earth and Oceanographic Science Collin Roesler mentored Stratton in her research program.
Other participating students include: Melissa Anson '11, Krista Bahm '11, Andrew Bell '11, Henry Berghoff '11, Andrew Cardamone '11, Cory Elowe '11, Maryellen Hearn '11, Holly Jacobson '11, Catherine Johnston '12, Elizabeth LePage '13, Tom Marcello '12, Christopher Mawhinney '12, Elsie Thomson '11, Benjamin Towne '12, Leah Wang '12 and Tina Zhang '11.
