Northern Bites Finish Second at RoboCup U.S. Open

The 2010 RoboCup U.S. Open, held April 17-18 in Sidney J. Watson Arena, concluded with Bowdoin's Northern Bites in second place.

In semifinal play Sunday, Bowdoin beat Penn — breaking a 0-0 tie by winning a shootout, 3-1.

Advancing to the finals, the Northern Bites would lose, 3-1, to the University of Texas.

Team advisor, Eric Chown, Samuel S. Butcher Associate Professor in the Natural Sciences, says the team showed tremendous improvement over Saturday's game and says they'll take that momentum to the RoboCup World Championships in Singapore June 19-25, 2010.
