Mike Howe '96 and his twin brother Geoff have been described as rock-star engineers. Founders of Howe and Howe Technologies, the twins developed the world's fastest dual-track vehicle for the U.S. Army.
The Ripsaw can go from zero to 50 in 3.5 seconds and climb a 45-degree angle hill, earning its creators the moniker, "the Wright brothers of the military."
Along the way they have become television stars as well, hosting Howe & Howe Tech on the Discovery Channel.
The show tracks their work on various innovations, including the Badger, a 32-inch-wide bullet-proof vehicle created for the Las Vegas Metro SWAT Team, and the SRI Subterranean Rover, a rugged all-terrain vehicle designed to withstand the harsh environment of coal mines.
Howe and Howe Technologies has been featured on the Military Channel, Fox News and in Popular Science magazine.
