Ken Chenault '73, CEO of American Express, appears in a special issue of U.S. News & World Report magazine titled, "America's Best Leaders 2007."
The Nov. 19, 2007, issue includes an article, "The Ultimate Trial by Fire," that examines Chenault's handling of 9/11 and its aftermath. "In a crisis, you can't manage by manual," says Chenault in the article, "you have to manage by values and beliefs."

U.S. News reports that its "America's Best Leaders" compilation is a collaboration between the magazine and the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and that the honorees were selected by a committee of academic, government, business and non-profit leaders convened by the center.
Chenault received similar accolades in October 2007, when Fortune magazine featured him on the cover of a special issue titled "How to be a Great Leader." Read the story here.
