Bowdoin Professors Celebrate Longfellow on TV and Podcasts

Associate Professor of English Peter Coviello appeared on WCSH’s 207 program on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, to discuss the bicentennial of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Professor Coviello, who specializes in early American literature and poetry, among other areas, offered a lively description of Longfellow’s life and the enduring impact of his poetry.

Host Rob Caldwell encouraged viewers of 207 to listen to excerpts of Longfellow's poem, "The Song of Hiawatha," which have been recorded on Bowdoin's podcast page by Bowdoin faculty members in seven different languages, including Italian, Yiddish, German, Swedish, Russian, English, and French.
