Kerry Burke '84 Gets the Scoop on "Tabloid Wars"
Story posted August 15, 2006
As a determined city reporter for The New York Daily News, Kerry Burke, Bowdoin Class of 1984, is accustomed to tracking down the Big Apple's hottest stories. Now Burke himself is part of the story, as cameras follow him in his daily pursuit of crime, disaster, and celebrity news on the TV show "Tabloid Wars."
Burke is one of ten Daily News journalists featured on the Bravo cable network's documentary series, currently airing Monday nights (episodes are rebroadcast throughout the week). As the show's Web site describes, going inside the Daily News is like "visiting a tornado." Each episode tracks the reporters as they compete for stories, battle "unrelenting deadlines," and engage in a "vicious war with the New York Post."
On various episodes, Burke has covered a double-police shooting, a Harry Potter book release party, a vicious beating, and allegations against Robert DeNiro's nanny.
More information about Kerry Burke, "Tabloid Wars," and the show's broadcast schedule are available on Bravo's Web site.
