To Members of the Bowdoin Community:

By now, you should have received a message from President Mills about the tragic death of Bowdoin Director of Facilities David D'Angelo. Dave was killed just before noon on Saturday in a motorcycle accident on his way home from a meeting at the College.

Over the weekend, Dave's family has made funeral and memorial arrangements and has asked that this information be shared with the Bowdoin community. President Mills and Katy Longley have asked that supervisors provide flexibility wherever possible to allow employees to attend the funeral.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Robert's Funeral Home in Winthrop. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on both Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28. Robert's Funeral Home is located at 62 Bowdoin Street in Winthrop (Tel: 377-8696). Directions to the funeral home are available at: http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com/directions3.html.

The funeral service will be held St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, followed by a reception for family and friends in the Parish Hall. St. Francis is located at 130 Route 133 in Winthrop (Tel: Church # 377-2922; Parish Hall 377-8404). A private burial will follow the reception for friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the D'Angelo Family Fund, c/o Winthrop Area Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 55, Winthrop, ME 04364.

For those wishing to send condolences to Dave's wife, Alicia, and their children, the mailing address is: 48 Chandler Road, Readfield, ME 04355.
