Bike and Books Awarded to Employees for Early Enrollment
Story posted December 12, 2002
Since all Bowdoin employees are required to enroll for benefits this year (rather than default to their previous benefits coverage, which expires December 31), Human Resources awarded prizes to encourage people to complete their enrollment paperwork in advance of the December 13 deadline.
Last week, 10 turkeys were awarded to employees completing their enrollment forms by December 3. Those employees, as well as all others who handed in their forms by December 6, were eligible to win an 18-speed Roadmaster bicycle, and one of five copies of the coffee table book Portland: Spirit of the Eastern Seaboard.
Those winnersí names were drawn Thursday afternoon, December 12, at Sunsplash in Morrell Lounge. The Bowdoin Polar Bear did the honors, assisted by Tama Spoerri, director of Human Resources.
Joe Hinckley of the Lockshop won the bicycle.
The books were won by Martie Janeway, Career Planning; Jim Appel, Thorne Dining; Brenda Myshrall, Counseling Center; Lisa Fox, Dining Service; and Clive Douglas, Facilities Management.
All employees who have yet to turn in their forms should remember that the final deadline for enrollment is 5 p.m., Friday, December 13.
