Ten Employees Win First Round of Prizes for Early Enrollment
Story posted December 03, 2002
Since all Bowdoin employees are required to enroll for benefits this year (rather than default to their previous benefits coverage, which expires December 31), Human Resources has come up with a series of fun incentives to encourage people to complete their enrollment paperwork in advance of the December 13 deadline. All "early bear" employees are eligible to win a variety of prizes.
All employees enrolling by 4 p.m. on December 3 were eligible for turkey gift certificates from Hannaford. Ten people were named winners Tuesday, as Sarita Benoit (with an assist from Cindy Bessmer, who kept the entry forms well shaken) picked their names from the box of all eligible entries.
Entry forms for 431 employees were possible winners.
The winners are:
Donald Bernier, Breckinridge Center
Gail Berneike, Breckinridge Center
Linda Hatstat, Housekeeper
Thim Chhim, Dining Service
Jamey Glynn, Facilities Management
Douglas Pollock, Dining Service
Judy Normand, Children's Center
Julie Carey, Dean of Student Affairs Office
Margaret Allen, Institutional Research
Deborah Haley, Dining Service
All winners will also be eligible for the other prize drawings.
Those who did not meet the turkey certificate drawing deadline still have the chance to be eligible for other prizes. Employees who return their completed enrollment forms to Human Resources by 5 p.m. on Friday, December 6, will be eligible to win an 18-speed Roadmaster bicycle, and one of five copies of the coffee table book Portland: Spirit of the Eastern Seaboard.
The drawing for those prizes will take place at Sunsplash, Thursday, December 12, at 4 p.m. in Morrell Lounge, David Saul Smith Union. Employees must return their enrollment paperwork by December 6 to be eligible for these prizes.
The final deadline for enrollment is 5 p.m., Friday, December 13.
