Professor to Lecture on Global Warming

May 20, 1998 Brunswick, Maine-- Peter Lea, associate professor of geology, will present a lecture titled "Global Warming - Lessons from the Past, Predictions for the Future" on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m. at the Coastal Studies Center in Harpswell.
An optional tour of the center's marine and terrestrial labs follows.
Due to limited parking, reservations are required and transportation will be provided. Individual cars will be turned away. For more information, call 725-3253.
The Coastal Studies Center, 13 miles from Bowdoin, is located on 118 acres of land formerly owned by the Thalheimer family. The center contains a terrestrial laboratory and a marine laboratory, which includes a glowing seawater system of tanks. A renovated farmhouse serves as a meeting site.
Lea serves as director of the study for Bowdoin.
The event is sponsored by the Association of Bowdoin Friends.
