Spring Gathering Features International Flavor

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Seats are still available for the Association of Bowdoin Friends' annual Spring Gathering on Thursday, April 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The evening will include a reception, dinner and presentations by Bowdoin students on international programs at the college.

From 5:30 to 6:30, there will be presentations on The Bowdoin Forum, BowdoinUs new student journal on international affairs; the Bowdoin Host Family Program, which matches local families with international students and teaching fellows; and the Bowdoin chapter of Amnesty International, which has worked with the Red Cross this year on awareness about the dangers of landmines.

A reception follows from 6:30 to 7:30 in the rotunda of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art with soft drinks, beer, wine, international cheese platters and fruit.

Dinner is from 7:30 to 9 in Wentworth Hall. The menu includes tossed garden salad, boneless breast of chicken a la filicia, orzo and rice pilaf, fresh vegetables, and the Bowdoin log with fudge sauce for dessert. A vegetarian option (baked manicotti florentine) is available upon request.
